Hello, friends! I have been doing alot of reading but am falling behind on my reviews again!
All You Have to Do Is Call by Kerri Maher

The setting of Chicago in the early 1970′ was a new one for me. I learned new things about life for women during that time. I went into this book thinking it was about abortion rights, but it was so much more than that. It explored female friendships, marriage, and motherhood and careers (to name a few). It was all about women having the power to choose how they lived their lives. I enjoyed how each character had different circumstances but their stories still intertwined into a single thread towards the end.

The Last Ranger by Peter Heller
Rating: 2/5

The parts that were about Ren’s job as an enforcement ranger and the different characters were a little interesting. My biggest hitch with book was the pacing. There were too many reminiscing scenes of Ren’s past that really slowed down the story. I frequently had to remind myself what was going on in the present day part of the story. The ending was rushed and the overall story…unmemorable.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven
Rating: 3/5

A fair collection of short stories. I appreciated the depiction of the reservation life and the experiences the characters had in it. There were many parts that made me laugh and many parts that made me sad. My favorite stories were:
- Every Little Hurricane
- Because My Father Always Said He Was the Only Indian to See Jimi Hendrix Play
- The Only Traffic Signal on the Reservation Doesn’t Flash Red Anymore
- This is What It Means to Say Phoenix, Arizona
- Indian Education
- Somebody Kept Saying Powwow
