Fun in June
My summer vacation is over and I finally started my new job as a librarian at my local community college! It has been a great experience so far. I’m really feeling optimistic about my future at this job. We also had our family trip to Glen Rose, Texas and it was a fun experience. I loved the small town feel in Glen Rose. I’ll share some photos later in the post! We visited Dinosaur Valley State Park, Dinosaur World, and Big Rocks Park.
We also started potty training my toddler this month which cancelled out all the other fun. Lol. Just kidding…but also not kidding. Y’all, potty training is hard. I bought this book, Oh Crap! Potty Training, and it helped me so much with getting through the process. It was a rollercoaster of emotions for about 2 weeks. Exhaustion, frustration, crying…and two weeks later, my daughter is finally getting the hang of it.
My cross stitch is coming along nicely! I’ve almost filled in the flowers, which is a big milestone for me! The next big chunk will be the black background. (progress photo in gallery) I’ve also been working on getting decorations for my office at the library. I am going with a Vincent Van Gogh still life/floral theme. I’ll try to take some pictures when I get all my stuff ready.
