Shows I’ve been binge watching

Advertisements

Hello, friends! I’ve been on a little reading break and have been watching alot of different shows while I work on other things and I thought I would share in case you are looking for something new to watch!

On Netflix

Kim’s Convenience

5 seasons (2016-2021) / Canadian Sitcom / TV-MA

I love watching this how during my lunch break because the episode’s are 21 minutes long. This is a lighthearted comedy sitcom that I enjoy watching when I want something chill to watch. I’ve been watching this show since it first came out on Netflix. Oh! One of the characters played by Simu Liu will be playing Shang Chi in the upcoming Marvel movie Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.

Workin’ Moms

5 seasons (2017 – 2021) / Canadian Comedy / TV-MA

I first watched this show just after I had my daughter. I loved seeing a comedic and often too real truths about motherhood, marriage, returning to work, mom friends, etc. This show can be a bit raunchy at times but it was entertaining. The one caveat for me is that the women in this show are in a more higher income class and it was sometimes hard to relate. The first 3 seasons were my favorite.

On Hulu

The Resident

4 seasons (2018-2021) / Medical Drama / TV-14

I’ve been watching this show off and on for awhile and I just finished season 4. There is plenty of drama to go around and I like all of the struggles and triumphs, and character and relationship developments. I also appreciate the diversity of the cast.

Big Sky

1 season (2020) / Crime, Drama / TV-14

The setting of rural Montana and seeing the actor Katheryn Winnick from the show Vikings drew me to give this show a chance. I’m not much for crime stories, but this once had enough to keep me interested throughout the show. The first season ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m curious to see if this show will continue. The series is based on based on The Highway book series by C. J. Box, so I’m sure there is more to the story.

On Disney+

Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted

3 seasons / TV-14 / Docuseries, Action-Adventure, Cooking

I LOVE Gordon Ramsay. I’ve watched many of his shows, and Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted is probably my favorite. We get to see a whole new side of Ramsay that loves adventure and learning about different cultures and cuisines. The interesting thing about this show is that for each area that he goes to, he has to learn how to source and make food that is unique to that region. He is often put through some dangerous situations to get the ingredients he needs.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls

Seasons 5 & 6 on Disney+ (2019-2021) / Survival, Reality, Action-Adventure / TV-14

This has been a fun show to watch. I love the adventure and survival aspects of it but the really fun part is the celebrity guests. I love seeing them going out into the wilderness and there are many interesting moments where they share about their personal lives. The conversations that they have with Bear during their breaks are surprisingly deep and full of wisdom about life. This series has been going on since 2014 on National Geographic, but I only came across it once it showed up on Disney+. It would be fun to find a way to go back and see the older episodes.
