Happy Friday, friends!
This week’s prompt: Putting Off Books You Actually Want to Read (suggested by Jillian @ The Bookish Butterfly)
Do you ever put off the books you actually want to be reading?
I never really did this until three things happened: I had a baby, my book collection started getting bigger, and I started blogging. Back when I used to read print books, I either borrowed them from the library or bought them. So my book collection was never really that big. Now that I’ve found where to get eBook deals, I buy more books that I can actually read! The amount of free time I have has fluctuated alot after the baby was born and it takes me a longer to finish a book. I can read more now that my daughter has gotten older and can entertain herself. It just comes down to how much time I dedicate to spending time with her or reading. Blogging has also affected my choices in reading because I have to decide on whether I want to read, write posts, watch tv/film, or listen to music. So many decisions!
What do you end up reading instead?
Lately, I’ve been wanting to go and read them chronoligically by the date of when I bought them since my collection just keeps growing and growing. I want to get them off my Kindle, almost like checking off a to do list haha! I paid money for it, so I feel like I need to read it. This has caused a little bit of a problem because I am very much a mood reader, so I’be been starting and stopping several books. At some point I decide that enough is enough and just pick something that I actutally feel like reading. Then I think, “why didn’t I just read this book in the first place?”
Do you treat reading books you’re excited as a reward?
I’ve never really thought about it that way so I guess the answer is no? But I guess it makes sense to save a book you’re really excited about kind of like when you set aside a special dessert or activity for a time when you can really enjoy it.

Lol, goodness, this was entertaining. I can definitely see how having so much going on would change how and when you’re able to read, especially with a little one. And you should read what you’re in the mood for.. that way you can really enjoy it!
Thank you for posting, good luck, and happy reading!
EBook deals are both a blessing and a curse. How can you resist cheap books? But you end up with more than you could ever read.
Ugh yes they are! I check for deals like every day 😫 even though I know that I already have more than enough to read.
