Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme, hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books & Dani @ Literary Lion, where they discuss certain topics, share their opinions, and spread the love by visiting each others’ posts.
Happy Friday, friends!
This is my first time participating in the Let’s Talk Bookish prompts . I’ve seen these posts pop up in my WordPress reader and the topics are so interesting. I honestly haven’t really talked about bookish things with anyone in a really long time. Which is one of the reasons I love this blogging community! I am able to connect with other book lovers around the world!
This week’s prompt: Has blogging affected your reading in a positive or negative way? (Suggested by Mini @ Book and Corner)
For the most part, blogging has been a positive influence. I am now keeping a record of what I have read and my opinions about them. I’m not one of those people who can remember everything that I’ve read. This gets even worse as time passes and I read more books! Blogging has also encouraged me to start looking more critically at what I’m reading. Before blogging, I would just move directly on to the next book without a second thought.
Now that I’m starting to make progress with developing my blog, I have begun to feel the pressure to read faster. This pressure is compounded by working full time and having a family to care for. I usually only read before bed and sometimes during the day if I’m really into the book. My reading time has been used for writing as I start to post more often. I’m still working on creating a good balance between reading and blogging!
I totally agree! While book blogging has been amazing, it also makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong if I’m not reading a ton ):
Awesome post
” I have begun to feel the pressure to read faster.” I definitely feel this pressure as well and sometimes it sucks. I have a fulltime job and other things I sometimes want to do! I feel bad watching movies because I’m “wasting” reading time. Ridiculous!
Yea! I just finished reading a book this week and now I’m kinda feeling just meh about reading another. I might take a break and watch a tv show instead! Deciding what to do when you have limited free time is hard.
That’s the thing when you have more than one passion.
You’ll soon find your rhythm; though it may take a little revising of the schedule, where possible. Good luck! 🤓
I sure hope so! It’s been a struggle but I know it will take time.
I like having a record of what I’ve read as well so I don’t forget about any books! And I get the pressure to read faster too, partly because I feel I need to read more to blog, but also because there are so many books I want to read and I feel like I want to read faster so I can read more of them, even though I know there’ll always be more books out there than I could possibly read!
I have been feeling the need to read faster so I can read all the books too! 😩 I kept starting and stopping books. I finally settled on one yesterday.
